It is known that the people of the village came from Karaman and settled with Süleyman Pasha, who was the first migrated person. The name of the village came from here, as its founder was a gentleman named Halil.  The neighborhood is 33 km away from the center. The economy of the village is based on agriculture and animal husbandry. There is a primary school in the village but it is not used. The village has both drinking water and sewage system. There is no PTT agency and health center. The road of the village is asphalt and there is electricity and landline in the village. The population of 2019 is 167 people. After Tekirdağ gained metropolitan status on December 6, 2012, all villages turned into neighborhoods.
